Here is what’s happening in the classroom in the upcoming week.
Monday: Phy Ed and Music (Students need recorders)
Tuesday: Art
Wednesday: Phy Ed
Thursday: Music
Friday: LMC
Reading: Our theme will continue to be “Forces of Nature?” Our focus question this week is “How do destructive forces lead to the creation of something new?” and “How does the power of the water change Earth’s surface?” The vocabulary words of the week are: dormant, circulate, seep, climate, stable, devastation. Our writing focus will be descriptive essays.
Spelling: We will have our Unit 4, week 1 spelling test on January 15th. These words have the pattern VCCV along with our review and high frequency words. We will have a new list on Thursday with VCV pattern. We will continue our rounds to see who will represent us in the spelling bee.
Math: Students should continue to work on learning multiplication and division facts. They are also working on decimals. We are continuing to work on our math boxes. Students can go on IXL at home to practice their math.
Science: We will continue our unit on foods and nutrition. We will be learning about “My Plate”, food labels, and food safety.
Social Studies: We will begin learning about the colonies road to self-government leading up to the American Revolution.
